On plans that include it, you can serve your menu from your own domain, such as menu.yourrestaurant.com, instead of your free subdomain.
- Open Domain in the dashboard and enter the domain you want to use.
- Add the DNS record shown to your domain provider.
- Wait for it to verify — this usually takes a few minutes.
A secure HTTPS certificate is issued automatically and renews itself, at no extra cost. Your original subdomain keeps working, so existing printed QR codes are never broken.
What the add-on price covers
Two separate things are involved, and only the first is included in the Custom Domain price.
- The domain you already own. The add-on covers connecting it and keeping it served over HTTPS. You stay the owner, and you keep renewing the name with your existing provider as you do now.
- A domain you ask us to buy for you. The name itself is charged separately from the add-on. Domain prices are set by the registrar and vary a lot by name and extension, so there is no single figure we can publish. We quote the exact amount for your approval first and buy nothing until you approve it. It renews once a year at the registrar's price at that time, which can differ from the first year.
If you would rather buy the name yourself from any registrar, you can — then only the add-on applies, and step 2 above is all you need.
